Another great days walking!
After Sunday mass we began our trek from Morebattle to Kirk Yetholm where following a gentle stroll up the Bowmont Valley we began the extremely steep ascent of Wide Open Hill the highest point on the route and the halfway mark of our journey to Lindisfarne.
The views in places were outstanding yet at times we drifted in and out of the low cloud and mist.
Eventually as we descended into Kirk Yetholm amidst the now steady rain we all had an obligatory in the Borders Hotel.
Tomorrow we face the longest walk of the week as we traverse the Cheviots to our base in Wooller.
Borders Hotel is also end of the Pennine Way, hence the pile of boots 🙂
