It was on a grey, overcast and cold February day that Provincial President Steve Elliott and his wife Geraldine, accompanied by nearly 110 members of Province 12 and their partners gathered at the Victoria Hotel and Spa in Sidmouth, Devon, for their annual Provincial weekend. This is a popular venue for Province 12 and is the third time that the Province has used it to host major functions. And – it didn’t disappoint! After an informal welcome dinner on the Friday the gathering was entertained by music and poetry provided by members of the Province. Saturday was spent in and around the hotel and Spa, or engaged in local sightseeing along the Jurassic Coast. Holy Mass was especially celebrated for us on the Saturday afternoon by Canon Alan Finley in the beautiful local church of The Most Precious Blood, and leading onto a sumptuous formal Provincial Banquet on the Saturday evening. Most people departed on the Sunday before or after lunch, but some took the opportunity to extend their stay to continue the holiday atmosphere. The Province is already looking forward to repeating the event next year!
